The Scharffen Berger chocolate company is responsible for the production
of some of the finest gourmet chocolate in America today. Founded in 1997 by Robert Steinberg and John Scharffenberger
After testing various combinations of cocoa, the two men discovered a blend that brought out " the true flavor of
cacao instead of masking it with sugar and other flavors".

When Scharffen Berger chocolate was initially made available to the public it was well-received by consumers in the San Francisco Bay Area.
However it took further efforts before the company was consistently producing top quality chocolate. The first official batch of
Scharffen Berger chocolate was made in their South San Francisco factory using vintage European equipment. Although relatively new to
the industry Scharffen Berger is now an established name in chocolate making and produces some of the highest quality chocolate available
today. |
