The origins of L'Artigiano date back to 1962 when
Gastone Gardini and Maria Gianfanti opened a bakery in Terra del Sole. This led to them opening
the "Pasticceria Le Perle" in 1976. Thsi shop was such a success that when Fabio and Manuele
Gardini took over the business that, in 1987, they felt sufficiently confident to expand the business, opening
an handmade chocolate shop in Forli.

Chocolate production by L'Artigiano grew from 1987 onwards. From the shop in Forli the company has grown significantly over the
previous 20 years, maintaining their handmade production process. The company has expanded across Europe and into the USA.
With sales continuing to rise the tradition of handmade chocolate production by L'Artigiano is expected to continue for the
foreseeable future.
